Another van’t Slot family member

Hi everyone. I tried to post something before, but I don’t see it listed anywhere, so I’ll try again. I was surprised & glad to find a website dedicated to the van’t Slot family name, but sorry to see the article on the first page about Eric van’t Slot from Lyons, Colorado. He was my younger brother. He was a good man & I miss him very much. I had read that article when this happened, but time doesn’t make it easier to re-read. About who I am; I live in Pennsylvania - USA. My father was Johan van’t Slot from Rotterdam. I have a 1/2 brother (different mothers - same father) who currently lives in the Netherlands. He is an artist named Johan van’t Slot and is married to Marlene Selif. I never knew my van’t slot grandparents, so that’s as far as my knoweledge of our history goes. I would love to hear from anyone who might know Johan or just drop a note to say hi. Also, I read a comment someone wrote on this site regarding where our last name originated from. He said it meant “of the castle”. I was also given that same information by my father. I’m glad to know there are so many van’t Slots out there. Vikki

New Evert van ‘t Slot born

Some months ago now, 11th Jan. 06, our (first) child Evert van ‘t Slot was born in Opende, Groningen, The Netherlands. He is son of Lucie van ‘t Slot-Wierenga and Edward van ‘t Slot (1973), son of Evert (1950) son of Evert (1911-1986).
We of course are very proud of this lively lovely child, and so are his grandparents.

About Posting

You’ve probably noticed that the comments section is currently disabled. Sorry for the inconvenience.

But due to some nasty comment spam bots, I’ve had to temporarily turn off the ability to comment on a posting until I can put in place an appropriate method of preventing automated comment spam bots (robots). They were filling up hundreds of comments a day with urls pointing to some undesirable websites.

I will try and have the comments section up this week for testing.

Stay tuned.
