history of the van’t Slot family
Posted on September 10th, 2006 by Ronald van ´t Slot
Dear extended family, referring to Curtis anouncement, I can tell that everybody wearing the van ‘t Slot or Vantslot surname is related to eachother. It depends on the way it is written Vantslot is more the american way and van ‘t Slot is more dutch. Mr Rugers must be (from what I know) very old and I don’t know if he passed away. He has made a book with the whole familytree. For more info please fill out a reply can be done in both english and dutch.
sincerely Ronald van ‘t Slot

Dear Ronald,
Unfortunately i have to correct you. There are actualy 2 different familys with the name van`t Slot. Some years ago i spoke with Mr. Rugers who confirmed me that one family is from Staverden and an other family has his origins in Rotterdam.
I can`t tell you if Mr. Rugers is still alive it`s
a long time allready that i spoke with him.
Kindregards from Luxemburg

Just looked in on Van’t Slot.net after a year or two. Not much new as far as I can see. Too bad, I would love to see the family tree mentioned above on this page - apparently Mr. Rugers made a family tree?? How do I get one? My dad Steven Van’t Slot made a family tree for me that goes back to the time Van’t Slots were actually named Ryerson… We are decendents of Dries and Marie Van’t Slot who were the parents of Wilhelmina (Minnie), Catherine and Bett (who corresponded with family in Holland for many many years. Dries and Marie came to New Jersey about 100 years ago. I’d have to dig up dad’s original tree to go back farther than my grandparents Dries and Marie. Please do let me know how to get the family tree and if any Van’t Slot is an amateur radio operator (ham radio). I am W2DLT and have had my license since I was 11 years old.
