Birthdays to Note!

There are some birthdays in the family coming up in the next few months. Here are a few
On October 16, our oldest living family member (van\’t Slot family) will celebrate her 102nd birthday.
Aunt Eibe as we know she, is Dad (Evert) van\’t Slot\’s sister. Dad was born in April of 1897 and Aunt Eibe in October of 1898. She married Coenraad Bernardus Kerssen in 1923. He died in 1996 at the age of 67.
Aunt eibe visited our family in th fall of 1948. Melinda and I visited with Aunt Eibe at the Ver Pleeg Kliniek in June of this year and she was very alert and recalled a fair amount of conversational English.
Incidentaly, she is not the only one in the family to reach 100, her older sister Elbertje van\’t Slot born November 28, 1891, died 26 days before her 101st birthday in 1992.
