Gerritje Van’t Slot
Hi, my name is Gerritje Van’t Slot and my husband and I moved to Canada in 1953 from Holland. My husband and I moved directly to Winnipeg Manitoba in 1953, where I still live. My father’s name was Berend Van’t Slot and my mother’s name was Johanna Bast. Our family grew up in Leuvenum and my father worked here and later moved to Apeldoorn working at a brick building (alpha fabric) store. My grandfather’s name was Steven Van’t Slot. I am one of 7 children who all currently still live in the Netherlands. My brothers names are: Steven Van’t Slot, Evert Van’t Slot and Jacob Van’t Slot.

Later on Berend Van’t Slot moved from Apeldoorn to Elspeet. I went to school in Elspeet. I am currently 73 years old.

My father came from Enschede in 1954 to Canada, finally settleing in Ottawa, Ontario. My father\’s name is Steven van\’tSlot and he came with his father (Johann) and mother (Johanna)van\’tSlot. My Oma, Johanna ,recently passed away at the age of 92.
