Oldest Living Van’t Slot?
On December 8th, I phoned Aunt Annie VanMalkenhorst who lives in Heerlen, Nl. She celebrated her 87th birthday on December 7th. She is well and celebrated her special day with most of her family -she has 5 children- at her eldest son’s home in Heerlen. Aunt Annie was adopted by the Dries van’t Slot family when she was 2yrs old. She is a sister by adoption to my late father, Evert Van’t Slot. Twice a week she visits Aunt Eib who is also my father\’s sister and probably the oldest living van’t Slot in the world. Aunt Eib, Eibertje van’t Slot Kersson, is a resident of the VerPlaak Klinik in Heerlen and celebrated her 103rd birthday October 16th. She is in relatively good physical condition but her mental capacity has dimished considerably. Melinda and I visited with her in June of 2000 and we found that she had surprising recall of her visit to our home in Holland, Michigan in 1948. She also did well in conversing in English.
I am intersted if there are any van’t Slots who recall Aunt Eib who lived in Elspeet several years after her husband died.
