Seattle Rocked by Earthquake!
Sitting at my computer working away in my home-office, I felt a rumble. At first, I thought it was a large truck driving by. It didn’t take long to realize what was going on.
Looking around my office I could see shelving units swaying and items on my desk moving back-and-forth. Visually, seeing everything shaking off the walls and shelves is impressive, but feeling the earth heave and fall beneath your feet is quite another sensation. I could have sworn the whole event lasted 30-45 seconds but local officials stated it was no longer than 15 seconds. It just goes to show you that the brain concentrates on things other than time when something that has been stable your whole life begins to move.
Thankfully there was minimal damage in downtown Seattle and no damage in my neighborhood a few miles away. In fact my leaky faucet seems to have fixed itself!
Officials say there is no expectation of after-shocks due to the type of quake it was, so I think I’ve made it through this episode unscathed. Let’s hope it stays that way!

Dear James, Glad that you made it through the earthquake with no major damage. Quite a surprise I am sure. The newss showed quite a bit of damage around the area. And I am sure more will be discoverd as time goes by, especially roads and bridges. Take care. Margo
great that nobody was hurt,
glad that I have never encountered one
