Curious about the web cam and password protected Home Control Center link?
That’s my pet project these days. I’ve installed several home automation products from x10 Corporation. They’ve got a bunch of inexpensive home automation controls that work through the power lines in your house. You can control items, lamps, appliances etc. via remote control using radio frequency controllers or infra-red ones just like your tv remote.
There are also several applications for the Linux operating system that allow you to control these items with your computer. I’ve set up a page that I can control my home from the web. Using the x10 xCam video cameras I can see live images from different viewpoints in and around my house.
